Associate Professor
Judy M. Taguiwalo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Women
and Development Studies of the College of Social Work and Community Development
of the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
She has a Ph.D.
in Philippine Studies from the University of the Philippines and a Master
of Arts in Public Administration from Carleton University in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada.
She has been involved in community development
and community organizing
not only as an academician but also as a practitioner with focus on women
and development. She was a political prisoner for a total of three years
and seven months during the Marcos dictatorship.
Prof.
Taguiwalo is currently the National President of the All-UP Academic Employees
Union, the union of rank-and-file faculty and non-teaching academic staff
of the University of the Philippines System
