Marjorie Mayo
is professor in Community Development at Goldsmiths, University of London.
She has worked in the community sector, as well as in local government,
and has experience of working internationally.
With
colleagues at the Centre for Urban and Community Research, at Goldsmiths,
her research interests focus on strategies for participation and empowerment,
at the local level in relation to urban regeneration and beyond, internationally.
She is currently exploring the links between local advocacy and global
advocacy as part of a wider international programme of research into Democracy
and Citizenship based at the Institute of Development Studies, University
of Sussex.
